Description: Urban Legends in Trauma was presented by David Wisner, MD, on Nov. 6, 2009 at The Arizona Trauma and Acute Care Consortium first annual symposium. He demonstrated data that confirmed or negateed urban legends in trauma about early fluid resuscitation, air medical transportation and money, blood loss at the scene of incident, trauma center "halo" effect, and whether or not trauma surgery is a high risk practice from a malpractice perspective.
