Abstract & Poster Submission Guidelines
General Information
- Abstract Due Date: Submit all abstracts by midnight Mountain Standard Time on October 14, 2011 to Chris.Salvino@bannerhealth.com
- Please read carefully, there is opportunity for posters as well as formal presentations in front of the Symposium audience.
- Any nurse or surgical resident (in the United States and other countries) is eligible to submit an Abstract to be considered for approval for a poster at the Symposium.
- Any surgical resident in Arizona is eligible to submit an Abstract to be considered for approval to present in front of the Symposium audience. The Arizona Chapter of the American College of Surgeons is co-sponsoring this opportunity in conjunction with AZTRACC.
- On the abstract form please indicate whether your submission is for:
- Poster only
- Audience presentation only
- Poster if audience presentation is not approved by the Committee
- Those abstracts accepted for poster or audience presentations will be notified by October 25, 2011.
- The presenting author should be listed first in the order of authors. All communications will be directed to the presenting author only.
- An individual may submit more than one abstract.
- Failure to register and pay for the conference will disqualify the abstract from audience presentation or poster placement. However, with respect to posters, you do not need to attend to have a poster accepted and shown at the Symposium; this option is great if you cannot attend the Symposium, but still want to show case your work. In order to compete for prizes you must be present your poster to the judges.

Submission Guidelines
General
- Completely fill in all the spaces on the Abstract Template and send to Chris.Salvino@bannerhealth.com by October 14, 2011.
- All abstract and presentation materials must be in compliance with copyright laws.
- Abstract content, posters and presentations should be your original work. It is ok to have presented your work at other meetings but work that has been published in Journals may not be submitted.
Hard Copy of Poster
- Those Abstracts accepted for poster display:
- If you will be attending the Symposium and are submitting your poster for prize consideration, you will be responsible for putting up your own poster on the boards at the Symposium.
- If you are not attending the Symposium (not eligible for prizes) you may send your poster using a certified service (such as FEDEX) with an arrival date no later than 11/1/2010 to:

AZTRACC will not return your poster after the Symposium
- Poster sizes vary, but keep it within realistic standard accepted sizes.

Presentations in Front of the Symposium Audience
Surgical residents with Abstracts accepted for presentations in front of the Symposium audience must follow these guidelines:
- You must register and attend both days of the Symposium because formal presentations will take place on both days and the awards at the end of Friday.
- Total time for your presentation will be 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers.
- The time and date of your presentation (November 3 or 4) will be decided most likely at the Symposium; so again, be prepared to present on both days as well as the end of November 4th when the prizes will be awarded.

The following prizes will be awarded to each of the nurse and resident winners as follows:
Posters
- $500 – First Place
- $375 – Second Place
- $125 – Third Place
Presentations
- $500 – First Place
- $375 – Second Place
- $125 – Third Place
