Senate Bill 1149 was passed by the Senate Health Committee by a 7-0 vote on January 31. Senate Bill 1149 adds news members to STAB, allows ADHS to authorize others organizations to use the trauma registry for specific research purposes and allows ADHS to coordinate rural trauma triage education and research with a consortium of trauma centers. In order to move the bill forward during the budget negotiations, the sponsor of the bill has agreed to remove the appropriation for the rural trauma triage education program at this point. The bill will now go to the full Senate for consideration. You can contact your members of the Senate in support of Senate Bill 1149 at: http://www.azleg.gov
