Executive Committee

Description: The Executive Committee consists of the Officers of AZTrACC and is responsible for managing the property and administrative affairs of AZTrACC.

Executive Officers:
  • President: Chris Salvino, MD, MS, MS, MT, FACS
  • Vice President: Thomas Gillespie, MD
  • Treasurer: Patrick J O’Neill, PhD, MD, FACS
  • Secretary: David M. Notrica, MD, FACS, FAAP
Responsibilities:
  • Meet on a quarterly basis. This will typically occur one month prior to the Board of Directors Meeting.
  • Assists Chair of the Board of Directors with Board of Director’s Meeting agenda.
  • Sets any fees and dues.
  • Provides for the administrative affairs of AZTrACC.

Board of Directors

Description: The Board of Directors consists of a single representative of each of the participating trauma centers in the State of Arizona. They are responsible for maintaining the mission, values and vision of AZTrACC. The Chairman of the Board is the President of AZTrACC and is typically a non-voting member.

  • Ken Ransom, MD: Scottsdale Healthcare – Osborn
  • Sydney Vail, MD: Maricopa Medical Center
  • Scott Peterson, MD: St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • G. Paul Dabrowski, MD: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center
  • Peter Rhee, MD: University Medical Center, Tucson
  • J. Craig Egan, MD, FACS: Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Responsibilities:
  • Meet on a quarterly basis typically in conjunction with the Statewide Trauma Grand Rounds.
  • Maintain the mission, values and vision of AZTrACC.
  • Develop methods to support the collaborative trauma and acute care research, education and outreach activities of the trauma centers in the State of Arizona.
  • When applicable remove any Officer or the Executive Committee or representative of the Board of Directors who fails to perform the duties of their respective office or position or is found to be unfit for such office or position.
  • Nominate and elect the Officers of the Executive Committee.

Education Committee

Description: The Education Committee was created at the first official meeting of the Board of Directors and is tasked with developing methods to support the collaborative education activities of the trauma centers in the State of Arizona.

  • Thomas Gillespie, MD:, Co-Chair, Statewide Trauma Rounds, St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • David Notrica, MD, FACS, FAAP; Co-Chair,Statewide Trauma Rounds, Phoenix Children’s Hospital
  • 2 Members of each of the following hospitals
    • Flagstaff Medical Center
    • Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center
    • University of Arizona
    • St. Joseph’s Medical Center
    • John C. Lincoln Hospital – North Mountain
    • Scottsdale Healthcare – Osborn
    • Maricopa Medical Center
    • Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Responsibilities:
  • Meet on a regular basis as determined by the Chair.
  • Develop methods to support the collaborative educational activities of the trauma centers in the State of Arizona.
  • Forward any ideas for supporting the collaborative educational activities to the Board of Directors.

Research Committee

Description: The Research Committee was created at the first official meeting of the Board of Directors and is tasked with developing methods to support the collaborative research activities of the trauma centers in the State of Arizona.

Members:
  • Patrick O’Neill, PhD, MD, FACS:, Chair, Maricopa Medical Center
  • Equal membership from each of the following hospitals at the direction of the Chair
    • Flagstaff Medical Center
    • Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center
    • University of Arizona
    • St. Joseph’s Medical Center
    • John C. Lincoln Hospital – North Mountain
    • Scottsdale Healthcare – Osborn
    • Maricopa Medical Center
    • Phoenix Children’s Hospital
